Overview:

This lecture focuses on the current development status and future trends of the logistics industry in Germany. Drawing on the speaker’s extensive practical experience in German industry and higher education, the lecture provides a systematic introduction to the characteristics of Germany’s logistics sector as a major logistics hub in Europe, its digital transformation, and the development trends of smart logistics and green logistics in the context of Industry 4.0. Taking Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) as an example, the lecture introduces the curriculum design, project-based learning, and enterprise training model of logistics programs at German universities of applied sciences, highlighting the educational philosophy of industry–education integration. The lecture also analyzes the technical, managerial, communication, and intercultural collaboration skills required of logistics students from the perspective of German enterprises. It further explores how Chinese logistics students can draw on German experience for professional development planning and concludes with prospects for future cooperation between China and Germany in logistics education and related fields.

Speaker:

Liping Chen is a KUAS Professor, Head of the Technical Logistics Program, KUAS China Coordinator, and in charge of Student Affairs at the Pirmasens Campus. Professor Chen has extensive experience working in industry and renowned German enterprises, with profound practical insights into logistics development, technology application, and talent cultivation in the industrial sector. She plays a key role in teaching and academic administration within the German logistics education system and has actively promoted cooperation and exchanges between China and Germany in fields such as logistics and intelligent manufacturing. She specializes in integrating advanced concepts from German industry with technological innovation in applied universities and has achieved significant results in teaching, research, and university–enterprise collaboration.
