From November 7 to 9, 2025 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation — Intelligent Process Control Technology for Water Treatment was successfully held at the SDJU Minhang Campus. The competition was jointly organized by the China Chapter of BRICS Business Council, International Alliance of Skills Development for Belt & Road and BRICS (IASDBR), and Belt & Road and BRICS Training Center for Skills Development and Technology Innovation, and co-organized by SDJU, Shanghai Avitech Information Technology Co., Ltd., and other organizations. Focusing on intelligent control technologies for water treatment processes, green technological innovation, and the cultivation of high-skilled professionals, the competition provided an international platform for participants from across the country to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and hone their skills. A total of 41 contestants from 21 universities participated.
During the competition, contestants engaged in intense competition around the core technologies of intelligent control in water treatment processes, covering key aspects such as system construction, parameter adjustment, and process optimization. Facing challenges with composure and solving technical problems through innovative thinking, they demonstrated solid professional knowledge, excellent operational skills, and a rigorous craftsmanship spirit. The judging panel strictly adhered to the principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency, precisely implementing the evaluation procedures to ensure the authority and credibility of the competition results.
On the morning of November 9, the closing ceremony was held on Minhang Campus. Attendees included Wang Xiao, Deputy Director of the Domestic Competition Office of the Executive Committee of the BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Organizing Committee; Wang Zhan, Chief Judge of the competition; Jiang Jianjun, Dean of SDJU School of Higher Vocational Education; Ji Renxi, Avitech General Manager; members of the judging panel; participating teams; and faculty advisors.
Dean Jiang extended warm congratulations to the winning teams and expressed sincere appreciation for the judges’ dedicated efforts and the strong support from all organizing partners. He noted that the competition not only comprehensively assessed our university’s organization capabilities and educational outcomes but also provided a valuable platform for learning from peer institutions.
In his competition review, Chief Judge Wang spoke highly of the contestants’ performance. He noted that, when faced with complex tasks, high-precision technical requirements, and an intensive competition schedule, the contestants overcame challenges through their solid professional knowledge and outstanding technical skills, fully demonstrating the spirit and capabilities of skilled professionals in the new era.
At the closing ceremony, Deputy Director Wang announced the list of winners. After multiple rounds of intense competition, the event awarded four first prizes, eight second prizes, and twelve third prizes. Awards to winning contestants, advisers, organizers were presented. The ceremony was filled with enthusiastic applause and warm atmosphere.
