IES Visited BEUN for Exchanges in Multiple Fields

06/02/2026

From January 25 to 29, 2026, a delegation from SDJU International Education School (IES), led by Shi Ye, Deputy Secretary of CPC IES Committee, and Chen Quanjing, Vice Dean, visited Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) in Türkiye for cooperation discussions. The visit built a bridge for transcontinental educational exchanges between the two universities.

At the beginning of the visit, Deputy Secretary Shi and Vice Dean Chen held talks with Professor Özölcer, BEUN Rector. The two sides introduced their respective educational characteristics and development visions. SDJU’s focus on cultivating applied technical professionals aligns naturally with BEUN’s strengths in engineering disciplines. The two sides reached preliminary consensus on expanding cooperation fields and exchanged culturally distinctive souvenirs as a gesture of friendship and commitment to future collaboration.

Subsequently, the delegation held in-depth discussions with deans of BEUN’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Engineering, and other faculties. Discussions focused on key initiatives including the joint development of Chinese language courses, the establishment of overseas internship bases for graduate students majoring in International Chinese Language Education, and “2+2” dual-degree joint programs. In response to the growing demand for engineering talent cultivation and the increasing interest in Chinese language learning among Turkish universities, the two sides agreed to adopt the “Chinese language + professional skills” model as an entry point to promote the deep integration of language education and professional training, providing students with cross-cultural academic and practical learning platforms.

Following the discussions, the delegation visited BEUN’s library, student activity center, and other educational facilities to gain firsthand insights into the university’s teaching conditions and campus culture, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of future cooperation projects. This visit represents an important step for SDJU in expanding international education partnerships. It will further enrich the “Overseas Study at DianJi” brand and contribute to mutual learning and exchange between China and Türkiye in education and culture.
