On June 4, Mr. Simone Goretti, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Iematech (Italy), led a delegation to visit our university. Vice President Wang Hongzhi met with the guests in conference room 230 of the administrative building on Lin-gang campus. Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE), the External Liaison Office, Office of Academic Affairs, and School of Higher Vocational Education (SHVE) attended the exchange.
Vice President Wang extended a warm welcome to Mr. Goretti and his team. He stated that as a pioneer in vocational undergraduate education in Shanghai, SDJU’s discipline alignment is highly compatible with Iematech’s core business. Based on the complementary advantages in industry demand and educational resources, both sides could first explore university-enterprise joint training models such as customized class or specialized class to precisely meet the cutting-edge needs of the intelligent manufacturing industry. OICE provided an overview of SDJU’s distinguishing features, talent cultivation, industry-education integration, and international development.

Mr. Goretti thanked the university for the warm reception. He detailed Iematech development history, global presence, and core technologies and services in industrial automation, expressing a strong desire for deep cooperation with SDJU in talent cultivation and technical exchange.

The two sides engaged in a constructive and in-depth discussion on roadmap for joint program, reaching a high consensus. SDJU and Iematech agreed to collaborate on establishing an integrated cultivation model: domestic study + intensive ETS training in Italy + employment at renowned enterprises. This model will introduce core professional courses taught in English to enhance students’ international academic ability. Simultaneously, corporate partners will be deeply involved in talent cultivation, offering intern positions in frontier fields such as software design, hardware production, and system integration to help students achieve a deep fusion of theory and practice. Graduates of the program will enjoy competitive salaries and promising employment.
Furthermore, to familiarize students with Italian educational environment, culture, and business model in advance, a Winter Camp will be offered. Students can immerse themselves in Iematech and its ETS, personally experience advanced Italian manufacturing technology and real-world work scenarios, and absorb the unique industry appeal and cultural heritage to fully prepare for their future international development.

This cooperation is a vital step for SDJU in deepening industry-education integration, expanding international exchange channels, and serving the upgrading of the intelligent manufacturing industry.
