On the morning of September 15, the welcome ceremony for the 11th student delegation from Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) was held at Science and Technology School Affiliated to Shanghai DianJi University (STS). A group of 17 German teachers and students—including Professor Ludwig Eugen Peetz, former Dean from Faculty of Applied Logistics and Polymer Sciences, Professor Chen Liping, Special Coordinator for China, and corporate expert Professor Astrid Benkel—gathered with student representatives from SDJU and STS. Chinese and German youth met with passion, blended wisdom, shared cultures, and enjoyed harmonious exchanges together.
SDJU Vice President Wang Hongzhi, STS heads, and representatives from Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Academic Affairs Office, International Education School and KKIP, attended the reception. The reception was co-hosted by Liu Ruoheng and Tang Jingying from KKIP.

In his address, Vice President Wang extended a warm welcome to the German guests. He reviewed the fruitful journey of over 20 years of cooperation and joint development between the two universities. In the past, a total of 24 student delegations—nearly 500 Chinese and German students—have taken part in exchange visits during the summer, fostering deep international friendship. He expressed his hope that this delegation would have a pleasant experience in Shanghai, and looked forward to welcoming more German teachers and students to visit our university in the future, contributing further to Sino-German cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Professor Peetz thanked SDJU faculty and students for their warm reception. He highly affirmed achievements of the past cooperation and expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to deepen understanding, expand collaborative areas, and enrich the partnership.

During the interactive segment, students from both sides broke the ice with self-introductions, sharing academic experiences, professional interests, and future plans. Fluent communication and sincere expressions quickly bridged the distance, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere.

Visit of this KUAS delegation will last for 10 days. KKIP has organized a variety of learning and exchange activities for the German guests, including Chinese language, traditional Chinese painting, and dragon and lion dance. The German delegation will also experience the urban charm of Shanghai, an international metropolis. This student exchange not only provides a platform for enhancing mutual understanding and communication but also deepens the friendship between Chinese and German youth. Looking ahead, SDJU will continue to uphold the philosophy of openness, inclusion, and win-win cooperation to promote Sino-German educational exchange to a higher level and broader scope.
