SDJU Delegation Visited Partner Universities and Enterprises in Germany and Italy

    From April 13 to 19, aSDJU delegation, led by Vice President Yang Junjie, conducted productive visits to Germany and Italy. The delegation sequentially visitedInnomotics GmbH, Aviation Technical Training College of Aeronautical Engineering (ATT), University of Naples Federico II(UNINA), and University of Bergamo(UniBg). These visits strengthened inter-university understanding, established new cooperative relationships, and expanded scope of international collaboration. Simultaneously, it and deepened and opened new venues foruniversity-industry cooperation.

    On the morning of April 14, SDJU delegation visited Innomotics GmbH, accompanied by Senior ResearchFellow Ms. Silvia Kettelhut. Mr. Fabrizio Luliano, Head of Customer Partnerships/Sales & Business Development extended a warm welcome and then presented his company, speaking highly the fruitful results of its collaborative projects with Shanghai Angdian Electric Motor Co., Ltd. Delegation members then gave an overview of SDJU, our cooperation with Germanpartners, and Angdian. The two sides held in-depth discussions onkey topics, including Innomotics’potential joining into SDJU China-German Industry-Education Integration Center(CG-IEIC), internship opportunities for SDJU students, participation in the China-German Forum co-organized by SDJU andTechnical University of Applied Sciences Wildau, and further collaboration with Angdian.


    In the afternoon, the delegation, led by Mr. Fabrizio Luliano, visited the company's factory to gain a deeper understanding of the specific operations of Inminda GmbH.    

    On April 15, the delegation visited ATT in Germany. The group was warmly welcomed by ATT General Manager Frank Dick, Training Manager Wolfram Kirchner, Practical Training Manager Jörn Keuper, Chairman of European Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises’Association (ESMEA) Mr. Winfried Bostelmann, and ESMEA President China Mrs. Wang Xiuli. General Manager Frank Dick detailed ATT training mechanisms and facilities, and then SDJU delegation presented our university and School of Aeronautics. Vice President Yang expressed gratitude for the warm reception and shared strong expectations for the 3+1 Joint Training Programfor Civil Aviation Maintenance Engineer. A signing ceremony was held to formalize the collaboration, followed by discussions on CG-IEIC, short-term student exchanges and faculty visits, with consensus on further cooperation. The delegation also toured ATT training workshop.


    That afternoon, General Manager Frank Dick led the delegation and ESMEA representatives on a tour of its employer enterprise Aero Avionik and ATT training facilities in Zweibrücken, providing insight into future training and internship environments for SDJU students. It was also worth mentioning that the visit was covered by the German newspaper Saarbrücker Zeitung.

    On the morning of April 16, accompanied by Professor Wang Jian, Secretary-General of China Sci-Tech Automation Alliance(CSAA), the delegation visited theUNINA Via Claudio campus. They were warmly received by Professor Fabio Villone, Director of Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (DEEIT); Professor Giovanni Breglio, Head of CI-LAM (China-Italy Joint Laboratory for Advanced Manufacturing); Professor Carlo Forestier, Internationalization CommitteeCoordinator; Sergio De Rosa, Professor of Aerospace Structure from Department of Industrial Engineering; and Professor Davide Marrocco, Coordinator. After mutual introductions, both sides reached agreements on collaboration in electrical engineering, electronic information engineering, and aeronautics, covering summer programs, short- and long-term student exchanges, faculty visits, and joint applications for CSC programs. The MoU was discussed and confirmed, with the signing process to be initiated upon the delegation’s return. The delegation later visited PrismaLab, OptoPowerLab, Aerospace Laboratory, and AI Laboratory, guided by Professor Giovanni Breglio.


    On the afternoon of April 16, the delegation proceeded to UNINA San Giovanni campus, visiting its Apple Developer Academy, industry-education integration laboratories, and SPICI. The tour provided deep insights into the university’s research infrastructure and lab capabilities, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration following SDJU’s joining of CI-LAM.

    On the evening of April 16, the delegation organized an overseas talent recruitment fair at UNINA Conference Center. The fair attracted active participation from Chinese Students and Scholars Union in Italy (CSSUI) in Naples and Rome, as well as students from Italy. Presentations by Vice President Yang Professor Liu Weiliang on SDJU’s profile and talent policies helped attendees gain an initial understanding of SDJU recruitment needs. Through one-on-one interviews, the delegation gained deeper insights into interested candidates. Follow-up actions will be taken to ensure effective communication and alignment.


    On the afternoon of April 17, SDJU delegation paid its first visit to UniBg. The group was warmly welcomed by Professor Flaminia Nicora, Deputy Rector for International Relations; Professor Gianluca D’Urso, Head of the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering; Professor Rosalba Ferrari, Deputy Head of the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences; and Professor Fabiana Piro, Rector Delegate for International Studies in Economics and Technology. In-depth discussions of the two sides covered multiple areas of cooperation, including the establishment of a China-Italian joint lab, short and long-term student exchanges (especially the YES Program), joint talent cultivation (particularly dual degree programs), joint applications for CSC innovative talent projects, and faculty exchanges. Both sides agreed to sign an MoU for collaboration, with SDJU to send the MoU draft and application to join CI-LAM after returning to China. The delegation also toured UniBg’s electronics, materials, and bioscience industry-education integration labs, gaining further understanding of its research and practical capabilities in related fields.


    The visits yielded substantial outcomes: it facilitated in-depth interaction with partner universities, expanded collaboration with overseas enterprises, and established a solid framework for future academic exchanges, joint program, and industry-education integration. These efforts are sure to support SDJU’s internationalization strategy and enhance educational quality. The visits also marked two significant breakthroughs: SDJU’s first overseas talent recruitment fair attracted widespread attention and participation, opening new channels for recruiting high-level international professionals and injecting strong momentum into SDJU’s global faculty development. This not only represented an innovative expansion of the talent recruitment model but also signified a major step forward in SDJU internationalization strategy. Additionally, the first attempt to establish an overseas joint laboratory with partner universities broke geographical limits, integrated global research resources, and built an international platform for cutting-edge research. This provided unprecedented opportunities to enhance SDJU research, academic influence, and depth of industry-education integration, effectively promoting deeper participation and leadership in international education and research.


Innomotics GmbH, a German company, is an independently operated entity under Siemens specializing in motors and large drive technologies. It was established in July 2023 following Siemens’ spin-off of its related businesses, with its headquarters located in Nuremberg, Germany. The company integrates operations across low-voltage to high-voltage motors, geared motors, medium-voltage converters, electric spindles, and related fields, offering a comprehensive portfolio of motors, drives, solutions, and traditional and digital services. With approximately 15,000 employees worldwide, Innomotics leverages its deep technological expertise and global business network to maintain a leading position in the drive technology sector.

Shanghai Angdian Industrial Co., Ltd. emerged in 1997 against the backdrop of SDJU’s adoption of industry-education integration as its core development strategy, through which the institution actively engages in industrial operations and collaborations while channeling resources back into its teaching missions.The company was wholly funded and established by the university. Shanghai Angdian Electric Motor Co., Ltd. serves as one of its three subsidiaries, specializing in the diagnosis and maintenance of large- and medium-sized AC and DC motors.

ATT(Aviation Technical TrainingCollege of Aeronautical Engineering) was founded in 2003 and serves as an EASA-147 training institution certified by the German Federal Aviation Office. It delivers comprehensive courses in aircraft maintenance, avionics, mechanical engineering, and related fields, blending theoretical instruction with hands-on practice to develop high-caliber aviation technical professionals. The college features state-of-the-art training facilities and a seasoned faculty team, partnering with numerous aviation enterprises to offer students internship and employment opportunities, with a commitment to supplying skilled talent to the global aviation sector.

The University of Naples Federico II (Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II) was established in 1224, making it one of Europe’s oldest universities. Located in Naples in southern Italy, its campuses are distributed across various parts of the city. The institution comprises 4schools and 26 departments, spanning disciplines including humanities, sciences, engineering, medicine, law, and social sciences, and offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. It currently employs over 3,000 academic staff and more than 4,500 administrative staff, with a total student enrollment of approximately 100,000.

The University of Bergamo (Università degli Studi di Bergamo) was founded in 1968 and is located in Bergamo, in the Lombardy region of Italy. As a public university, it comprises eight departments covering engineeringand applied sciences, economics, management, law, management, information and productionengineering, humanand social sciences, andletters, philosophy communication, offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. The institution currently enrolls over 20,000 students and places a strong emphasis on internationalization, serving as one of Europe’s key centers for foreign language instruction.
