18/04/2025

On April 15, SDJU and AVIC Touchstone-Tic held a seminar and donation ceremony for construction of a joint lab in the Administration Building of Lin-gang Campus. Attendees included Gong Siyi, President and Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Li Lulin, Chairman of Touchstone-Tic, and other representatives from both sides. The ceremony was presided over by Su Qinggang, Deputy Secretary of Party General Branch of School of Aeronautics(SA).

On the ceremony, Li Lei, SA Dean, presented a detailed construction plan for the joint lab. The lab will focus on generic technology for testing and verification for national aerospace products, and build an innovative system featuring“one equipment platform, two generic technology centers, three specialized teams, and four research directions.” It aims to become a nationally leading and internationally recognized platform for aeronautical materials and structural testing and verification.

President Gong Siyi remarked:“The lab will achieve deep integration of teaching, research, and productionIt will not only enhance talent cultivation at our university but also provide technological innovation support for enterprises,—servingas a model for industry-education integration.”

During the donation session, Touchstone-Ticdonated fund to SDJU to support the lab construction and talent development. A donation agreement was signed between the two sides. Chairman Li Lulin stated:“This is our first donation to a university. We look forward to driving breakthroughs in aeronautical testing technology and cultivating more high-quality professionals for the industry through this collaboration.” In response, President Gong expressed gratitudeand emphasized:“Our university will make full use of fund, ensure its quick establishment and make efforts to yield substantial outcomes in testing service, scientific research, and standard setting.”

In the following discussion, both sides engaged in practical exchanges on lab operation mechanism, funding, and talent recruitment. They also agreed to deepen collaboration in talent cultivation, faculty development, and scientific research to jointly advance innovation in the aeronautical field.

This partnership exemplifies SDJU’s technology-based and application-oriented strategy and represents a key step for Touchstone in expanding its presence in Yangtze River Delta region. Moving forward, the joint lab will serve as an important platform supporting the aeronautical industry in Shanghai and across China, providing strong technical backing for the development of China’s self-developed large passenger aircraft and low-altitude aircraft.
