On March 25, 2025, Professor Jake Garman, Vice-President of Edith Cowan University (ECU) Australia, along with Ms. Fengmei Guo, International Account Manager, visited SDJU. An in-depth discussion on cooperation between the two universities was held in Room 230 Lin-gang Administration Building. The meeting aimed to further strengthen the long-term friendly relationship between the two sides and promote practical collaboration in talent cultivation, academic exchanges, and joint programs.

SDJU Vice President Yang Junjie, Deputy Director Peng Ruirui of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, along with deans of relevant schools, extended a warm welcome to the visiting guests. In his welcome address, Vice President Yang expressed sincere greetings to Professor Garman and Ms. Guo, reviewed the history of collaboration between SDJU and ECU, and spoke highly of the positive achievements made in advancing international education. He also expressed optimistic expectations for deepening cooperation and expanding exchanges in the future.

He emphasized ECU’s strong commitment to enhancing collaboration with SDJU and outlined strategic visions for future joint initiatives. He emphasized that ECU is dedicated to advancing global education and expressed his hope that this visit would lead to in-depth cooperation, thereby promoting international exchange and growth for students and faculty in both universities.

During the meeting, the two sides engaged in thorough discussions on specific areas of collaboration, covering topics such as ECU programs, alignment of curriculum and language requirements, long-term partnership planning, optimization of cooperation models, and support mechanisms for exchange students. The dialogue focused not only on the feasibility and sustainability of academic collaboration but also on enhancing high-quality learning experiences and development opportunities for students, reflecting a high degree of mutual understanding and trust between SDJU and ECU in international education cooperation.
This visit marks a new phase in the international collaboration between the two universities.
