At 23:13 (Beijing time), November 15, 2024, the Long March-7 Y9 carrier rocket carrying the Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft, the world’s largest, most efficient, and fully-capable cargo spacecraft in service, was successfully launched from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in China. After entering orbit, the spacecraft successfully completed configuration and docked at the rear port of the Tianhe core module of the space station at 02:32 (Beijing time) on November 16, 2024. The entire process took only 3 hours and 19 minutes, achieving a rapid docking.

SDJU’s experimental sample from a space application project made another journey to the space station during this launch. Building on the results of the previously returned samples, more in-depth and systematic scientific research will be conducted in the future.
