Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) announced the second batch of 2024 International Cooperative Program for Cultivating Innovative Talents (ICPCIT). Three SDJU graduate students recommended by School of Electrical Engineering (SEE) passed rigorous selection and secured funding. They will soon begin the joint program at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) in Austria. This achievement not only showcases the competitiveness of SEE students on the international stage but also sets a new record for the highest number of students approved by this program.
The three graduate students are Ma Long, Wang Yifei, and Zhang Junhan. During their time at our university, they have demonstrated exceptional performance, academic excellence and strong research and innovative capabilities. The CSC funding fully reflects the success of our university in talent cultivation.
TU Graz, one of the 18 Austrian public universities recognized by the China’s Ministry of Education, holds a prestigious academic position in the field of electrical engineering. SDJU has maintained a long-standing and robust partnership with TU Graz. And this joint cultivation program will further strengthen exchanges between the two institutions in talent cultivation, scientific research, and other areas.
ICPCIT is an important initiative launched by CSC to implement national strategies, promote the internationalization of China’s higher education, and cultivate innovative international talents. The program aims to support outstanding young students and scholars to pursue advanced studies at renowned universities and research institutions abroad, thereby enhancing the quality of talent cultivation in China.
SDJU attaches great importance to the implementation of the national government-sponsored overseas study program. With the principle of “early promotion, early deployment, and early implementation”, our university continuously increases promotion of these programs, provides relevant training and services, and encourages faculty and students to fully leverage high-quality international educational resources in their visits or exchanges to overseas universities. In recent years, the number of students approved for CSC-funded programs at SDJU has steadily increased, making it an important channel for our university to promote the internationalization of talent cultivation. Our university will continue to enrich and improve framework for comprehensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation. We will actively explore ways to integrate international elements into talent cultivation, discipline development, scientific innovation, forming a distinctive international education system that reflects our unique characteristics. By doing so, we aim to contribute more significantly to the economic and social development of the nation and local region communities.
