From November 26th to December 3rd, Vice President Yang Junjie led a delegation on an official visit to France and Germany. The primary focus of the visit was to strengthen collaboration with German institutions, aligning with our university’s core strategy for international development. The goal of the delegation was to enhance understanding and foster communication with partner universities, creating broader avenues for collaboration in the fields of research, teaching, and scientific inquiry.
The delegation engaged in visits to Education Office of the Embassy of PRC in Germany, Wildau Technical University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule Bremen University of Applied Sciences, Broetje-Automation GmbH. Additionally, they visited French institutions--- IESEG School of Management, JUNIA HEI, and ECAM LaSalle.
On the morning of November 27th, the delegation visited the IESEG School of Management in France. IESEG Associate Dean for International Relations, Antonio GIANGRECO, along with Ms. Virginie Lamour, International Exchange Coordinator, Ms. Magali Smith, Professor Hong Jie, Professor Pascal Ameye and others warmly received the delegation. Building upon the memorandum of cooperation in 2022, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding collaborative programs, with the expectation of more fruitful outcomes. The delegation also toured IESEG’s teaching facilities.
On the same afternoon, the delegation visited the JUNIA HIE in France. They held discussions with Ms. Thanh Ly Le Minh, JUNIA International programs Coordinator, as well as relevant department heads and professors including Dhaker Abbes and Yannick Lamber. During the meeting, both parties expressed a strong willingness to cooperate in areas such as exchange program and the “3+2” joint training program. In the future, SDJU Office of International Cooperation and Exchange will coordinate with the respective secondary schools to advance collaboration in specific fields.
On November 28th, the delegation visited ECAM LaSalle. In-depth discussions with the General Director Didier Desplanche, International Relations Director Caroline HANRAS, Academic Affairs Director Céline Simon and International Project Manager Huafen JIN-FRANCO covered collaboration in two majors (mechanical electronics engineering, mechanical design and automation). A memorandum of cooperation was signed during the visit, and then the delegation was given a tour of the institution’s laboratories.
On the morning of November 30th, the delegation visited Wildau Technical University of Applied Sciences in Germany. In-depth discussions with the Vice President Dr. Jörg Reiff-Stephan and professor Iur.Stefan Strassner, professor Alexander Koethe and international affairs coordinator focused on programs regarding student exchange, summer courses, and faculty exchange, and a consensus on collaboration was reached.
On the same afternoon, the delegation paid a visit to Education Office of the Embassy of PRC in Germany. Minister-counselor Huang Wei warmly welcomed the delegation, engaging in discussions and offering three suggestions: firstly, he recommended our university to actively seek support from various institutions for international student exchanges; secondly, he advised to leverage the opportunities of Lin-gang Special Area, basing upon Lin-gang and serving as the bridge between German universities, enterprises, and Lin-gang; and thirdly, he emphasized the need to increasingly promote SDJU’s achievements in Sino-German cooperation, thus contributing to the advancement of high-level Sino-German educational initiatives.
On December 1st, the delegation visited Bremen University of Applied Sciences. They were warmly received by President Dr. Konrad Wolf, Professor Thorsten Voelker from School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Professor Ramon Spiecker, Director of the International Graduate Center. Discussions encompassed collaborations regarding joint engineering master’s program, visiting scholar program, and a German internship center (tentatively named). The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions to further strengthen collaboration, injecting new vitality and motivation into the friendly partnership between the two universities.
In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation toured Broetje-Automation GmbH. Discussions with Dr. Roland Hansen, Broetje-Automation Executive Vice President, Dr. Axel Peters, Managing Director of Technology, Dr. Christian Heyers, Vice President Engineering Electric, Controls and RD, and Mr. Jonas Wermter, Director of Sales Asia / Pacific, reached preliminary agreements on student internship and short-term faculty visit, aiming to cultivate engineers proficient in German or English with strong professional capabilities.
We believe that through continuous effort and dedication, our university’s cooperation with Germany will become even closer, with more frequent interactions and exchanges. This will further propel our university to advance further and more steadily on the path of internationalization.

JUNIA is headquartered in Lille, the fourth-largest city in northern France. Since 1885, JUNIA has been deeply engaged in science, economics, and industrial performance, with a focus on ecology, digitization, and technological transformation. It is a non-profit private institution dedicated to higher education in science and engineering. The institute offers three engineering degree programs accredited by CTI, 40 specialization options, operates 23 research laboratories, and has an enrollment of 5000 students.
The ECAM LaSalle (formerly known as ECAM Lyon) was established in 1900 and is in the heart of Lyon, the second-largest city in France. The school received accreditation from Commission des titres d’ingénieur (CTI) in 1943, making it a representative of elite engineering schools in France. It ranks among the top in France for factors such as corporate partnerships and employment rates among the 168 engineering schools in the country. The school’s teaching and research span four major fields: Information and Computer Science, Materials and Structures, Energy, and Industrial Management. ECAM LaSalle offers a range of programs, including preparatory courses, engineering courses, master’s programs, and dual-degree programs.
Bremen University of Applied Sciences, established in 1982, is located in the northern German port city of Bremen. It is a public university comprising five faculties, namely School of International Business, Architecture, Civil, School of Environmental Engineering, School of Sciences and Media Studies, School of Electrical Engineering and School of Nature and Engineering,offering a total of 70 majors.
Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau, located in the state of Brandenburg, is the largest among the five applied sciences universities in the region. Established in 1991, the university has its roots in engineering education dating back to the late 1940s. Situated in the port city of Wildau, southeast of the German capital Berlin, the university offers undergraduate and master’s programs in fields of business, engineering, science, economics, sociology, and humanities.
Broetje-Automation GmbH, a German company, is a world-leading integrator of aerospace automated assembly production lines. With over 40 years of history in the aerospace industry, the company specializes in aircraft automated drilling and riveting machines, robots, large component digital flexible docking systems, turnkey projects for aircraft structure assembly production lines, as well as carbon fiber composite automatic laying machines, and production equipment.
