From October 28th to 29th 2023, the 9th Summit on Development of Large Forging Industry, hosted by SDJU School of Materials Science and Engineering (SMSE) was successfully held at Zhongtai Group Qianghai Forging Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (ZGQFEM) The theme of the summit was “Development Path of Large Forging Industry under the Background of Dual Carbon Goal” (Note:dual carbon refers to carbon neutrality and peak carbon dioxide emission). Over 30 experts, scholars and technicians from organizations such as Confederation of Chinese Metalforming Industry (CCMI), China First Heavy Industries (CFHI), China National Erzhong Group Co. (CNEG), Shanghai Electric SHMP Casting and Forging Co., Ltd., Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Technology Co., Ltd., ZGQFEM, Luoyang Casting-Forging Co., Ltd. of CITIC Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., Wuxi Paike New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Yanshan University, Shanghai University, Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute Co., Ltd. attended the summit. This summit was co-organized by ZGQFEM, and chaired by Li Rongbin, SMSE Dean and Director of Research Center of Shanghai for Large Part Hot Manufacturing Engineering (RCLPHME).
Li Deqing, ZGQFEM General Manager, delivered a speech, extending a warm welcome to the leaders, entrepreneurs, and experts in attendance, and providing an overview of the company. Then CCMI Secretary- General Zhang Jin, delivered a speech. He stressed that the successive summits on development of large forging industry organized by SDJU have provided an excellent platform for the exchange of ideas regarding large forging technology in China, and the platform is conducive to promoting technological progress and resource sharing.
The summit featured 9 technical and academic exchange presentations revolving around the theme of large forging industry under the dual-carbon goal.
After the presentations, the experts engaged in discussion on the high-quality development of large forging industry, research achievements, and common technical issues. They delved into in-depth deliberations on the future development and goals of RCLPHME and put forth many constructive suggestions. Focus of the summit was on mapping out a blueprint for double carbon goal, and ushering in a new chapter of green development. This summit provided a significant platform for exchanging ideas, analyzing issues, discussing academics, and fostering friendships. Participating experts engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions revolving around the theme of this year, providing insightful perspectives to propel the green and low-carbon transformation and high-quality development of large forgings, and pointing out the path for the future development of large forgings under the backdrop of dual carbon goal.
