The Shanghai Municipal Education Commission (SMEC) recently issued the SMEC Approval Notice of 2023 Core Courses for Shanghai Universities (SEMC [2023] 38). Our university recommended a total of 17 courses, with an impressive 16 receiving approval, a significant breakthrough in the number of approved courses. The designated timeframe for these courses spans two years, from November 2023 to October 2025.
This core course initiative is strategically designed to propel course construction with a particular emphasis on major construction leading the way. By leveraging course reform as a catalyst, the initiative addresses the major issue of talent cultivation model while concurrently promoting teaching reform. SDJU is steadfast in adhering to its IEI (industry-education integration) characteristics, dedicated to establishing a core undergraduate curriculum imbued with new teaching concepts and methods. Faculty members are encouraged to craft lectures that are critical, innovative, and challenging, with and core courses developed guided by educational and teaching laws, contemporary educational thought, and distinctive features unique to SDJU.
