The national final of the 16th “Higher Education Cup” National College Student Advanced Graphics Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition (AGTPIM) was recently held at Chongqing Jiaotong University. Competing against over 10000 students from more than 700 universities nationwide, our dedicated team achieved remarkable success. They secured one first prize and three third prizes in the mechanical advanced graphics technology (AGT) competition.
To participate in this national competition, SDJU guidance team meticulously planned and prepared from early stages. In March, a selection notice was issued, and in April, a school wide competition was held, witnessing active participation from about 100 students. Following rigorous evaluation, 25 contestants were selected for the municipal competition. In May, our team participated in the municipal “SGS Cup” held at Donghua University, and achieved excellent results. In the 3D competition module, SDJU won one team first prize and three team second prizes. Additionally, in the innovative design module, SDJU won one first prize and one second prize. In terms of individual awards, SDJU received 5 first prizes and 15 second prizes.
The AGTPIM success was facilitated by the guidance of the dedicated teacher team, and the employment of a multi-tiered approach involving campus selection, simulative competition, and practical exercises like “SGS Cup” participation, and a strict adherence to the purpose of “promoting teaching and learning via competition”. The approach effectively elevated students’ proficiency in mechanical drawing, fostering a heightened enthusiasm for learning. Moreover, winning the competition also further augmented SDJU’s visibility and reputation within the field of machinery.
“Higher Education Cup” AGTPIM stands as the pinnacle of national graphics competitions. It’s jointly organized by the former National Advisory Committee on Teaching of Engineering Graphics in Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, the Graphics Technology Committee of China Graphics Society (CGS), and Product Information Modeling Committee of CGS. Notably, in 2018, it earned a place in National University Subject Competition List of China Association of Higher Education. This competition serves as a fundamental stepping stone for participation in other prestigious school-level A-class competitions, including the “Challenge Cup”, the National Undergraduate Mechanical Innovation Design Competition, National Competition of Innovation and Creation in Mechanical Engineering for Chinese University Students, and the National Digital Design Dimensions Show (3D Show).
