From May 24 to 28, the 7th Baja SAE China (BSC) was successfully held in Xiangyang Hubei Province, with 97 participating teams from universities, vocational schools, and enterprises across the country. With the support and encouragement of university leaders, SDJU Baja Team overcame various difficulties and achieved national second prize, a unique gift for the upcoming SDJU 70th anniversary.
SDJU Baja Team has been participating in BSC since 2019 and has won awards in consecutive seasons with the strong support of university and secondary school leaders. More importantly, with the help Baja Science and Innovation Studio, SDJU discipline competition platform, School of Mechanical Engineering (SME) has cultivated groups of students with strong practical abilities, rich professional knowledge, team spirit, and innovative thinking.
Due to the continuous rainfall during the competition, the competition field was flooded and muddy, and a large part of the maintenance area was also flooded. However, SDJU Baja Team kept up the hardworking and striving spirit, spared no effort to win the competition. On the day right before the endurance race, the team members manually carried the cars to the maintenance area for inspection. They fought against the rain for 10 hours and completed maintenance near midnight, thus ensuring their participation the next day and laying a solid foundation for the race and winning.
During this season, unexpected circumstances such as heavy rain and mud have well tested the will of the SDJU Baja Team members and the technical level of SDJU Baja cars, and the winning best interpreted the unremitting efforts of all team members. With the end of this year’s competition, a new season will begin soon, and expectations are high for SDJU Baja Team to design better racing cars, achieve better results, and win more awards in the next journey!
