In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of SDJU and create a good cultural atmosphere, the 13thSDJU Group Dance Competition, hosted by CCYL SDJU Committee and organized by School of Mechanical Engineering, was successfully held in the Theater of Lin-gang Campus on the evening of May 10, and it was live streamed on Tik Tok. With the theme of “Dance of Youth, a Tribute to SDJU’s Seventy Years of Marching Forward”, the competition invited artistic instructors from Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai University of Electric Power, Shanghai Jian Qiao University as judges, and attracted over a thousand teachers and students to watch on site or online simultaneously.
After fierce prior competitions, 8 teams entered the final. The participating teams rehearsed their dances carefully and displayed different styles, which fully demonstrated the positive mental outlook and versatility of SDJU students.
The dance Growing up in Elapsing Time by students of School of Mechanical Engineering (SME) revolved around SDJU history and displayed the arduous process of the SDJU’s founding. My SDJU Story by students of School of Higher Vocational Education (SHVE) expressed their deep love toward SDJU through dance, and narrated the story of SDJU’s 70-year development path.
The dance Hope by students from School of Materials Science and Engineering (SMSE) sowed the charm of youth inside the hearts of audience, and the dance Youth Front Alliance and Messages to the Bright Moon from School of Foreign Languages (SFL) showed youthful charm, the Mixed Dance from School of Business (SB) fully demonstrated the vitality of SDJU students, and the We Rock from School of Electrical Engineering (SEE) highlighted youth ambition with dancers’ vibrant presence.
The dance Future Designers from School of Design and Arts (SDA) emphasized SDA’s unique characteristics and displayed its cultural innovation products for SDJU’s 70th anniversary. And finally, Youth Devoted to the Party, Forge Ahead with the Aspiration of National Rejuvenation by students from School of Electronic and Information Engineering (SEIE) revealed the positive and energetic spirit of college students in the new era.
After the wonderful performances of each team, SMSE won the first prize, SEIE won the second prize, and SB won the third prize. Other winning prizes went to SEE, SME, SFL, SDA, and SHVE. This competition not only proved an opportunity to develop teamwork and collaboration skill and dance skills, but also stood out as a youthful extravaganza to demonstrate the talents and passion of SDJU students. It intensified the atmosphere for SDJU anniversary celebration further.
