The results of the 14th (2022) National Mathematics Competition for College Student (NMCCS) were announced recently, and SDJU participants won 2 national first prizes, 10 second prizes, 2 third prizes and 4 Shanghai third prizes in competitions for non-mathematics majors.
Organized by the China Mathematical Society (CMS), NMCCS is a high-level national discipline competition for undergraduates. The competition has provided a platform for college students to improve their computing, logical thinking and spatial imagination abilities, which are conducive to cultivating their innovative thinking and comprehensive mathematical ability.
During its 7-month duration and supported and guided by Education Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) actively engaged in competition propaganda and mobilization, carefully organized screening, selected excellent candidates, and organized qualified teachers to train and guide contestants. Centering on core curriculum teaching reform, SAS adheres to the work approach of “facilitating learning, teaching and reform through participating competitions”, and continuously deepens the curriculum and teaching reform, which effectively promotes curriculum development of advanced mathematics in our university.
