On the morning of March 23rd, the conference for accelerating the industry-education integration (IEI) in Lin-gang Special Area was grandly held at Lin-gang Center. Chen Jinshan, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of Lin-gang Special Area Administration (LGSAA), Wang Ping, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government attended together with 300 or so conferees from Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Shanghai Municipal Finance Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Lin-gang Special Area Administration, universities and enterprises. Gong Siyi, Deputy Secretary of CPC SDJU Committee and President, and Yang Wanfeng, Vice President, attended as representatives of the first batch Lin-gang IEI demonstration bases.
At the conference, Yang Wanfeng, on behalf of our university, accepted the Lin-gang IEI demonstration base sign. Since becoming one of the first IEI demonstration base cultivation units of Lin-gang Special Area in 2021, SDJU has deeply embedded in different industrial chains like integrated circuits, civil aviation, artificial intelligence, intelligent new energy vehicles, high-end equipment manufacturing, hydrogen energy, and so on. SDJU has been speeding up innovation and accumulating momentum, established the first IEI Development Fund in Shanghai higher institutes, the city’s first Development Research Center for IEI Demonstration Zone and Lin-gang Special Area IEI Collaborative Education Work Office, and two key construction projects for modern industrial college. SDJU’s regional contribution, national influence, and demo effect have greatly improved, contributing to the innovative IEI development in Lin-gang Special Area with SDJU solutions.
SDJU President Gong Siyi, representing the first batch of demonstration base units, gave a report titled Rooting in Lin-gang Special Area, Implementing Integration and Innovation, and Building High Quality IEI Demonstration Base in One Field and Four Areas. She introduced SDJU’s construction of IEI base from three aspects as per the title of her speech, then she briefed SDJU IEI achievements in system innovation, excellent field engineer cultivations, and IEI teacher recruitment and development, progression of new R&D center and the transformation of innovative S&T achievements. She emphasized that in the future SDJU will continue to implement the three strategies of quality education, pooling talents, and opening-up, and explore innovative mechanisms and pilot experience branded with SDJU feature, Lin-gang model, Shanghai advantage and Chinese characteristics. SDJU will strive for development by taking root in Lin-gang Special Area, make contributions by serving Lin-gang, and accomplish great deeds in the building of Lin-gang.
At the conference, the Lin-gang Special Area IEI Alliance formally kicked off with SDJU as one of the first 84 members.Chen Shiyan, deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission and director of Shanghai Working Mechanism Office for IEI Promotion,released guideline of Measures to Support Lin-gang IEI Pilot Exploration and Deepen the Construction of IEI City. These measures are based on institutional construction, further reform and resource aggregation, emphasizing systematic concepts and problem-orientation. Besides, the guideline proposes 15 specific measures in 3 fields including accelerating the construction of an IEI institutional environment, strengthening innovative and pilot exploration, and enhancing the layout of platform resources.
Wu Qunfeng, director of LGSAA Division of Development and Reform, introduced the IEI construction of Lin-gang, the national pilot city.He said that in the past two years, LGSAA has provided comprehensive support 50 projects in 17 units within five aspects including IEI carrier construction, talent training, technological innovation, factor vitality, and IEI ecology construction. LGSAA also supported 21 pilot IEI enterprises, construction of 3 key modern industry colleges, and completed information system for IEI management.Next, Lin-gang Special Area will continue to make efforts in creating a good ecosystem of innovation and sharing, and improve the effectiveness of collaboration between industry and education. In addition, Lin-gang will explore and construct new IEI demonstrations with strong system integration, wide radiation, and excellent comprehensive services.
