SDJU Celebrated the Year of the Tiger

The year of the Tiger is on its way and rings in the new spring.

On January 31st, before the Chinese New Year’s Eve, Lu Xionggang, Secretary of CPC SDJU Committee, and Gong Siyi, SDJU President and Vice-Secretary of CPC SDJU Committee, visited students and staff holding their positions during the festival and expressed their best wishes with New Year’s presents.



  On Lin-gang campus, Lu Xionggang went to Gate 2 sentry, student dorms and No. 2 Dining Hall where faculty, security and accommodators were working. On behalf of SDJU, he extended his gratitude for they sacrificed their family reunions for SDJU, making sure campus security and stability during the Spring Festival. He also hoped everyone to pay close attention to epidemic prevention and control, stick to regular work procedures and provide heart-warming service to ensure a peaceful and harmonious festival.



  On Minhang campus, President Gong greeted the faculty in charge of student affairs, accommodation, security, and production with best wishes. On behalf of SDJU, President Gong expressed her appreciation for their dedication and efforts in keeping SDJU secure, steady and operating smoothly.



  Chinese New Year is permeated with bustling and festive chores. On the two campuses, faculty and students happily prepared for the New Year by writing Spring Festival couplets, cutting window grilles, and making flower-like decorations and dumplings in laughter. The air was filled with festive exuberance. SDJU leaders had cordial talks with faculty and students, telling them to set their minds at ease, enjoy the festival, excise regularly, and keep in touch with family and friends. Besides, they presented specially-prepared gifts to faculty and students. Moreover, to make students feel at home and have an unforgettable New Year, delicious and complimentary meals would be prepared in the proceeding seven days.

  Feng Xingyang, an undergraduate at the School of Mechanical Engineering, said, although unable to return home due to the epidemic, he felt warm because of the considerate care every day from counselors and SDJU. Guo Yingkui, a graduate of the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, noted that vacation was a rare period for meditation and rest. Thanks to intimate service and full arrangement of SDJU, her learning and progress were possible. Moina, an international student of the School of Business, expressed that the Chinese culture is profound and therefore staying on campus during the winter holiday proved useful for her to experience it and her love for China and SDJU went deeper.

 


  Cordial greetings and sincere wishes made a difference to on-duty faculty and staying students, who extended their thanks, and said they were sure to work harder in fulfilling their obligations to ensure SDJU security, stability, and school running during the winter vacation.

  Members from CPC SDJU Committee Office, President’s Office, Graduate Affairs Office of the CPC SDJU Committee, Department of Student Affairs, Chinese Communist Youth League of SDJU, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange,General Affairs Office, SDJU Security Office, and Asset Management Company accompanied these visits.
