First Prize in 2021 APMCM

Recently, the results of the 2021-2022 Asia and Pacific Mathematical Contest in Modeling (APMCM) were announced. Advised by Chen Yunxia, Cheng song, Dai Jintao and Xu Xueqian, 2020 graduates from the School of Mechanical Engineering (SME), won the first prize.


The contest lasted from November 25 to 29, 2021. More than 27000 students from 820 colleges and universities around the world signed up.Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, University of Oxford, University of Melbourne, University of Malaya and other well-known universities at home and abroad sent teams to participate.

APMCM is an important event of basic disciplines and applied science and technology with great influence in the Asian-Pacific region. This college student contest is hosted by the Beijing Society of Image and Graphics and organized by APMCM Organizing Committee. The test and supplementary materials of the contest are in English. The participants are required to use mathematical methodologies to solve practical problems within four days and submit an English paper. It aims to stimulate students’ interest in extracurricular independent learning, encourage students to apply mathematical methods in solving practical problems, and improve their creativity and application ability in solving comprehensive and complex social engineering problems in multiple industries by establishing mathematical models and computer technology.

SDJU attaches great importance to college discipline competitions, organizes students to actively participate in various competitions at all levels, and focuses on cultivating and improving students’ scientific and technological innovation ability and teamwork spirit, which has laid a solid foundation for comprehensively improving student skills.
