Recently, the Ministry of Education (MOE) issued The Notice on Registered and Approved Undergraduate Majors of Colleges and Universities in 2021 (No. 14, [2021] MOE).Artificial Intelligence (AI), a new undergraduate major by our university was officially approved.Up to now, the number of SDJU undergraduate majors has increased to 39.

Taking the opportunity of constructing new engineering discipline, our university optimizes the distribution of disciplines and majors, and the new major AI serves as an important measure for SDJU to get into new and first-class engineering majors.As an emerging and interdisciplinary major geared to market demand, AI well integrates with the development of the Yangtze River Delta and China and takes aim at catering to the demand for AI talents in Lin-gang Special Area. Thus, SDJU AI major is intended tocultivate qualified practical talents who can engage in AI product design, application development, technical testing, data analysis, product operation and maintenance in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

Continuously focusing on the needs of industrial modernization and the construction of Lin-gang Special Area, and centering onnew technology industries such as intelligent manufacturing, integrated circuits, new energy vehicles and AI, SDJU will stabilize the scale of undergraduates, optimize undergraduate majors, constantly strengthen major construction, enrich major connotation, and thus improve the quality of education.
