24/12/2020

On 12th November, ABB Cup Innovation Contest (also known as B&R Scholastic Union Contest), jointly organized by Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) and ABB, came to the last phase. Instructed and guarded by Wang Fang, Ji Lixia and Wang Zhigang, the three participating Electrical Engineering School (EES) teams, after overcoming difficulties of more than nine months, stood out from over 30 teams of 29 colleges and universities, and won the first prize, third prize and finalist prize respectively in the finals.

The contest topic of this year“Planning & Design of Flexible Production Line” is closely related to the hotspot of today’s intelligent manufacturing, demonstrating a higher requirement for Excellent Engineers with its focus on practical production requirement and a multi-dimensional ability assessment on design planning, modeling and simulation, test verification, teamwork, communication, etc. The three SDJU teams approached the topic from different perspectives: mathematical modeling, mass production, and production line trajectory optimization. All achieved great results.
