Abstract:
The demand by the EU for energy turnaround is becoming greater as it concerns the climate problem and is being pushed by economic development. Energy turnaround brings about the change of energy structure, which shall influence the electrical power market, the demand for storing energy, and problems like the transient stability of electrical power systems.
In this lecture we will elaborate the four following divisions:
I. Current status and prospect of Europe’s energy structure
II. Causes and solutions of negative power prices
III. Current large energy storage projects in Europe
IV. Chances and challenges for renewable energy of high-penetration rate
