March 8, 2018
From March and on join us for the Shakespeare Book Club. We will be role-reading Shakespeare’s history plays, interwoven with discussions and debates, in Chinese. During the meetings, we will draw on bilingual versions of Shakespeare’s texts. The discussions will concentrate on cultural, philosophical, and literary elements, such as story, theme, and characters, starting from the experiences of everyone’s modern daily life. Throughout the meetings, the discussions will be moderated by several lecturers from the School of Marxism, Shanghai Dianji University.
The Shakespeare Book Club will gather in the meeting room 228, L&S Building, usually between 19:00 and 21:30, on every Thursday this semester.
The Club is open to everyone interested in Shakespeare’s plays; there is no limited number of attendants.
