Ji Xiang Jia from Shanghai Dianji University won the Nomination Prize of the 7th Shanghai Mayor's Youth Award in Science, Technology and Innovation. The award ceremony was held in the hall of the City Centre yesterday. 10 Mayor's Prize winners were awarded by Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai Municipal government.
Jia studies measurement & control technology and instrument in the School of Electrical Engineering. During his college days, he showed great talent in technological innovation. With the instruction from his teachers, he got 1 patent for invention and 7 patents for innovation. He was also the second prize -winner in 2016 National Venture Contest.
The selection of this year Mayor's Prize began in March 2017. Altogether 74 teenagers applied for this prize. Only 20 of them succeeded -- ten for the Mayor's Award and ten for the Nomination Award.
