The third Shengang Community ‘Dishui Lake i-Sports’ Activity was successfully held at the Chunhuaqiuse Park on June 2nd, 2018, which was in the theme of promoting the construction of community and paying attention to the environment protection of Dishui lake. The 25 groups, which were made up of 100 foreigners and 100 Chinese families living in Shengang community, finished jogging and other games together. More than 500 people were involved in the activity, including volunteers and 10 cultural program groups from Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Ocean University and Shengang community. On behalf of our university, 22 international students together with volunteers joined in this activity.

Encouraged by the enthusiastic crowd, Tahiro Diallo of our university was far ahead just after the starting gun went off and kept leading others during the whole jogging contest. Everyone took pictures together when the contest was over in order to record the wonderful moment. Afterwards, international students of SDJU, along with residents in community, accomplished other games and activities.

Everyone’s impressed by the participation and enthusiasm of international students, which fully demonstrated their spirits of optimism, perseverance and corporation. Meanwhile, it's a great opportunity for international students to have a better understanding of Lingang and strengthen communication with residents in community.

Good games

My name is Tahirou Diallo. I am from Guinea (Conakry). I am a first-year student of Shanghai Dianji University and major in International Economics. On the second of June 2018, I attended the DISHUI LAKE i-SPORTS activity. It was an opportunity for me to discover the beauty of the Lingang area, the attractions and the organizations of the country.

During the activity I had a chance to participate in a lot of games that I didn’t know before. We started by forming groups constituted by different people from different countries. And the next was the jogging and kick-off. It was so amazing and contagious to see the happy smile on everyone’s face. After that was the game groups, everyone was given a card by the receptionist at the end of the jogging. Each card had five grids which needed to be filled at the end of each game as an act of courage and accomplishment. The games were easy but also fun. After all the grids were filled, everyone got a gift and a title of participation of the amazing activity DISHUI LAKE i-SPORTS 2018.The end of the activity was marked by the gorgeous Chinese folk dance.

I really loved the activity and had a great time, because it was an opportunity for me to make new friends and realize how beautiful the Lingang area is. I think the school should hold more activities like it, which can help everyone in particularly foreign students to have more fun after all the stress that we go through at school.
